SEN & Inclusion
Lawdale works closely with Elizabeth Selby Infant school, where most children are at school before they come to Lawdale. The SENCO works between both schools . This means individual needs are known and interventions or additional support can be in place immediately in Year 3.
If a child starts Lawdale in a different year group , or in the middle of a term, they are assessed straight away to see if they require additional help in an area. If they are transferring from a Tower Hamlets school, immediate liaison is made with the relevant SENCO.
Parents are encouraged to raise any concerns with a member of the Inclusion team –usually the SENCO or Inclusion Manager. They can also speak to their class teacher first; class teachers will inform the SENCO if they have concerns about a child in their class.
